The German international Leroy Sané has rejected an offer from FC Bayern to extend the contract and is now playing for Galatasaray Istanbul. The Turkish record champion officially announced this on Thursday afternoon and posted photos of Sané in the club’s yellow-red jersey. The 29-year-old leaves the Munich-free free of charge, he already traveled to Turkey for medical check on Wednesday.
According to the report, Sané signed at Galatasaray for three years, his contract will start on July 1, 2025. The attacker earns nine million euros per season at the club a “loyalty bonus” of three million euros a year. Sané receives the number ten at the Istanbul club.
“We will build a team that will deliver the biggest fight in the Champions League,” Galatasaray President Dursun Aydın Özbek is quoted in the club announcement. Last year the club had already failed in qualifying for the “premier class”.
