As the DFB announced on Thursday, the Supercup will be held on August 30 (2:00 p.m.) in the BBBank Wildpark. In the classic of German women’s football, the Double winners of Bayern Munich meet the last unsuccessful VfL Wolfsburg.
In 2024 the Supercup was held for the first time after a 27 -year break, even then the two top teams dueled – Bayern won 1-0 in Dresden.
The “highlight event” is now to be brought to different regions “to strengthen the bond with the existing fans and to make enthusiasm for women’s football tangible beyond the usual locations,” said the statement of the DFB.
Since the Munich women won both the championship and the DFB Cup in the past season, Wolfsburg moves up as a second in the Bundesliga. Tickets are available from June 13th.
