There were no trains for hours between Beilen and Assen today. This was due to a level crossing at the transition in Hooghalen.
The malfunction started around 4 p.m. and was resolved again at 7.45 p.m. In the meantime, quick buses rode between the two stations.
At the transition in Hooghalen, the barriers no longer went up. As a result, traffic could no longer cross the track. Some cyclists still wanted to ignore the closed barrier and blinking lamps. Multiple stakes. The police therefore started checking. At least one cyclist was stopped and received a ticket.
