Muziekfestival Best Kept Secret in Hilvarenbeek makes a call to visitors to carpooling, because the NS will strike on Friday. Due to the strike, there are no NS trains to and from Tilburg that day, the nearest station in front of the festival. The festival starts on Friday.

The festival, which attracts around 25,000 visitors a day, had close consultation with the Dutch Railways in recent days about a possible strike on Monday. “But only a few hours ago both the trade unions and NS surprise us by advance the strike to Friday,” the organization reports in a statement. As a result, festival -goers cannot travel by train to Tilburg on Friday.

The organization is working on alternative transport options. “Our team works hard to arrange extra bus transport, but due to the short term avoidance is very limited. We do everything we can to welcome everyone on Friday.”

Carpool
Visitors who already have a shuttle bus card and can reach the station in Tilburg on their own can still use the shuttle buses that run between the station and the festival site. Whether money will be returned to visitors who cannot use their commuting card is not yet known.

To illuminate the transport pressure, the festival asks visitors with a car and an empty chair to offer their ride via CarpoolApp Slinger. People looking for a lift can also go there.

Considerably more traffic
The organization expects considerably more traffic than normal on Friday, but emphasizes that there are sufficient parking spaces. “Departure on time and take water with you in case there are delays. We do everything we can to get everyone in as quickly as possible.”

Singer Eefje de Visser is the main act on Friday evening. Other artists who are on the program that day include L’impératrice, The Vices and DJ St. Paul.
