Flanders has decided to definitively stop the international adoptions from India and Togo. This is what Flemish Minister for Welfare Caroline Gennez (Vooruit) in the Flemish Parliament answered a question from Suzy Wouters (Vlaams Belang). According to Gennez, 39 candidate adoptive families are now being supervised by the Flemish Center for Adoption (VCA). That is only half of the 80 files that were transferred to the VCA at the end of 2023.
