Formula 1 does not start its season in 2026 because of the Muslim fasting month Ramadan in Bahrain. It starts instead on the Albert Park Circuit from Melbourne with the Grand Prix of Australia.
The first of 24 Grand Prix ‘2026 is planned for March 8, a week later it is to be driven in Shanghai, on March 29 in Suzuka, Japanese.
Formula 1 expects a rule reform towards more sustainability in the coming year. Among other things, the cars will then drive with a 100 % CO2-neutral fuel.
After the races in Australia, China and Japan, the motorsport king class turns to Bahrain (April 12) and Saudi Arabia (April 19)-the Ramadan will go from March 16 to March 18. The current season had also started in Australia because of the fasting month.
Premiere in Madrid, Imola is missing
Madrid is new in the racing calendar next year. In the Spanish capital, on September 13, a city course is to be taken at the exhibition center.
