In the conversation with Boulevard, of which a few fragments have already been shared, Promes says that “everything weighs heavily”, with which he refers to his convictions and the entire process around it. He has been convicted of Cocaine trade and for stabbing his cousin. He was sentenced in prison for 6 and 1.5 years in prison respectively. An international arrest warrant is against him for those drug transports.
Abroad
The former Ajax player has never been physically present with those statements, but he would have liked to answer. “I certainly wanted to tell my story in court, but I was dealing with contractual obligations to the club. I couldn’t just travel to the Netherlands.” He was active for Spartak Moscow in Russia and has been in Dubai for a while at the Club Dubai United FC. Since then he has not been to the Netherlands anymore.
Promes does not want to say anything about the criminal cases in the conversation. “I can’t make a statement about substantive questions.” He says that on the basis of the advice of his lawyer.

In a reaction to RTL Boulevard, the Public Prosecution Service says “that he was convicted of serious criminal offenses and that there is an order from the court that he must get stuck. At the moment we say: when he comes to the Netherlands, he must get stuck.”
