Ron Boszhard, the 61-year-old brother of Carlo Boszhard who makes children’s television, no longer wants to hug candidates during recordings. “That would now be a ‘red flag’,” said the presenter.
We have known Ron Boszhard for years and years as a presenter of Kindevision, but since the presenter started Zappsport, a lot has changed, he says. Nowadays there is much more restraint with recordings. “Where I used to spontaneously hug or comfort a candidate, that would now be a” red flag “,” he says in De Telegraaf.
Bleeding girl
Ron is now really very careful with the minor boys and girls. “I became extremely reluctant to do that. During the recording of Zappsport, a girl had fallen from a horse and she had a bloody nose. But nowadays you think twice about how you react to that.”
He finds it difficult to use such a bleeding girl. “There are always cameras on you and you are constantly aware of how something could be explained. That is now part of your professional responsibility.”
Spontaneity
There are now no more adults in the children’s dressing rooms, says Ron. “If I now interview a child in a dressing room, we walk away with the entire team afterwards. We have agreed that no one is left with the child one -to -one. You have to think about everything.”
How long can Ron actually come as a presenter of Kinder TV? Does his target group still like it? “Children of today have a much smaller tension. Because of the rise of platforms such as YouTube and Tiktok, where videos are short and sometimes only fifteen seconds take,” he says. Then beyond: “They have been finding a fifteen minute program for too long.”
