Despite the ongoing negotiations on the controversial Iranian nuclear program, the US government has imposed further sanctions against Tehran.
The punitive measures apply to more than 30 people and companies to whom the US government accuses of several billion dollars.
Tehran uses the network now occupied with sanctions to avoid sanctions, cover up its income from oil sales and to finance its nuclear and rocket program with them, as well as support for regional militias, the US Ministry of Finance said. It is a system of “shadow banks” that used false companies in Hong Kong or the United Arab Emirates.
Trump threatens military blows
Due to the new sanctions, any possessions of the people and companies concerned are frozen in the United States. In addition, US citizens are no longer allowed to do business with them. The sanctions also make it much more complicated to do business for those affected – especially when it comes to transactions in US dollars.
The United States and Iran are currently negotiating the future of the Nuclear Program of the Islamic Republic. US President Donald Trump wants to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. The leadership in Tehran denies to strive for this at all – and insists that atomic energy should be used for civil purposes. The Oman conveys in the negotiations.
