He had just celebrated a great success with the “Spurs”. Now the Australian has to go Postecoglou.
Poseteclou is no longer a coach of Tottenham Hotspur. This was announced by the Europa League winner on Friday afternoon. “After evaluating the services and after a careful consideration, the club announced that Poseteclou was released from his duties,” the “Spurs” wrote on social media.
Shortly before, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had reported on the release. Club boss Daniel Levy personally made the decision.
Postecoglou Tottenham had led to success in the Europa League final against the Liga rival Manchester United (1-0) at the end of May. The Premier League only ended the Londoners in 17th place – more badly than ever. “We are extremely grateful for his commitment and cooperation in his two years at the club. Forever, the third coach of our history will be remembered forever, alongside the legendary Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw, who gave us a European trophy,” says a statement on the club’s own website.
Postecoglou took over Tottenham in the summer of 2023 and had previously been successful in Scotland near Celtic Glasgow. Despite the interim sporting success in the Premier League, the hoped -for consistency failed to materialize. So far, nothing has been known about a successor to the Londoners.
