The investigation was started after a report arrived around 8 pm on Wednesday evening about a suspicious scent in the vicinity of a home in Sint-Baafs-Vijve near Wielsbeke. In the enclosed garden, the police found the body of a man, packed in a sleeping bag and a wooden box, tied with straps.
The victim turned out to be a Polish man from Avelgem, who was missing since last Wednesday.
