Wiesbaden (dpa -AfX) – In German industry there are increasing indications of an end to the weak phase. In April, the industrial companies recorded more orders for the second month. In the month comparison, the orders in the processing industry increased by 0.6 percent, as the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announced on Thursday in Wiesbaden. The growth follows a strong increase the month earlier, as an advanced effects in response to the announced US volumes, the number of orders drove up.
Analysts were surprised by the new climb. They expected fewer orders in April and had an average of 1.5 percent. However, the increase in March was slightly corrected downwards, only 3.4 percent of 3.6 percent.
The development in April was also better than expected in the year. In this consideration, the Federal Office reported an increase of 4.8 percent, while analysts had expected an increase of 3.9 percent.
The positive development is “significantly due to the significant increase in the manufacture of data processing devices, electronic and optical products,” said Destatis. In addition, there were growth in the so -called “other vehicle construction”, which includes orders from aircraft and military vehicles, among other things.
