Wednesday morning is a regular shot on Teylerplein: toddlers and preschoolers gather under the tree, where you can read and sung. Jorien Stoop and a few other parents watch smiling. Their own children have now flown out to primary school, but the weekly moment lives on and has since become a household name for parents in the neighborhood.

What continues to gnaw: the rest of the square is still waiting for the makeover that the municipality promised at the start of the project. According to the initiators, it is time for that commitment to be met. And with the fourth anniversary of the initiative, they hope for a symbolic gift: a pedestrian crossing, so that children can safely cross the street to their playground.
