The block world comes to life: “A Minecraft Film” brings Mojang’s cult game into the real world for the first time – as an adventure comedy directed by Jared Hess (“Nacho Libre”).
Also on board: Jason Momoa (“Aquaman”), Emma Myers (“Wednesday”), Danielle Brooks (“The Color Lila”) and Sebastian Hansen (“Just Mercy”) and Jack Black as Minecraft icon Steve. Together they end up in the pixelated “upper world”, an imaginative cubes in which they have to prove courage, team spirit and creativity to find their way home.
The four outsiders are sucked into the upper world by a mysterious portal: a bizarre, cube -shaped wonderland that thrives through their imagination. To get back home, go on a magical journey with the experienced “crafty” Steve. Her joint adventure presents the five companions to the challenge of demonstrating their courage and reflecting on the unique creative skills that they make up as individuals.
