The Belgian Group The Workwear Group (TWG) has enlarged its portfolio. On Tuesday, the group of companies specializing in work and protective clothing, which includes the Dassy brand, announced the takeover of Belconfect.
Belconfect also offers work clothes. The subsidiary Shoeteq with the safety shoe brands Puma Safety, Albatros, Footguard and Arbesko is also part of the transaction.
VĂ©ronique Mulliez, the CEO of the TWG, explained the reasons for the acquisition. “The takeover of Belconfect is an important milestone in our strategy to build a scalable and powerful European group for professional work and security clothing and PSA,” she said in a statement. “This transaction offers tangible advantages when it comes to expanding our product portfolio, market segmentation and integration of the supply chains.”
Belconfect’s headquarters in Dottenijs in Belgium remains even after the takeover. As a result, “the existing team and the customer -oriented way of working can be maintained,” said the new owner. The adopted brands kept “their own identity, while they at the same time benefit from the joint know -how and operational synergy advantages”.
