Eintracht Braunschweig made the first personnel decisions for the new season. Go at least four professionals, a veteran remains.

Eintracht Braunschweig will also play in the 2nd Bundesliga in the coming season. So much for the dramatic relegation against 1. FC Saarbrücken. The relegation achieved is also clear: the expiring contract of routiner Fabio Kaufmann has automatically extended until June 30, 2026. The BTSV announced on Tuesday.

And otherwise the squad planning – since it is clear in which league it continues for Eintracht – has been picking up. As the club announced, defender Robert Ivanov will turn his back on the BTSV. His expiring working paper is not extended.

“We deliberately decided not to plan with him in the coming season and to realign ourselves in central defense,” said sports director Benjamin Kessel to the decision. Ivanov had completed a total of 47 competitive games (one goal, two templates) for Eintracht since the summer of 2023.

There is also clarity with Niklas Tauer (Mainz 05), Richmond Tachie (1. FC Kaiserslautern) and Julian Baas (Sparta Rotterdam). The rental trio will return to the respective main club. An extension of the rental business or even a firm obligation is not considered.

The situation is different with Lino Tempelmann (FC Schalke 04), who has contributed seven goals since the winter break and defender Paul Jaeckel (Union Berlin). “We are in close exchange with both Lino and Paul and FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Union Berlin,” reveals Kessel. “We want to keep both players beyond the summer and have deposited our interest in both cases.”
