The mystery success series “Stranger Things” is heading towards its end: As part of the Netflix event “Tudum”, the streaming provider has announced the publication plan for the fifth and last season-and this is based on three major holidays. The final eight episodes are released in three parts, starting in November 2025.
Three stages, three holidays
- Volume One starts on November 26, 2025, the day before Thanksgiving (USA).
- Volume Two follows on December 25th, on time for Christmas.
- “The Finale” ends on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025.
All three parts are unlocked worldwide at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time (PST). Depending on the time zone, the local publication date can vary slightly.
Accompanying the announcement, Netflix has published a first teaser that shows highlights and central moments from the previous seasons. The history of the Hawkins crew is now heading towards its end. A total of over 650 hours of film material for the final season is said to have been made. Production was completed about eleven months ago.
What is season 5?
The Duffer brothers, creators of the series, keep kept covered with details of the action, but already gave an important note: The last season starts in autumn 1987-around a year and a half after the events of season 4. Netflix, the starting situation describes as follows: “Autumn 1987. Hawkins is difficult to open the cracks. Defeat him once and for all.
And further: “The military put the city under quarantine and reopened the hunt for Eleven – it has to be underground again. While the anniversary of Will’s disappearance is approaching, the fear of what will come. One last, all -important battle is facing – against a threat of darker and fatal than anything they have ever experienced.
The last episodes
The publication takes place more than three years after the two -part release of the fourth season of “Stranger Things” in the summer of 2022. Netflix had already revealed the titles of the final episodes in advance:
