Two music acts appear before the Champions League final. The reactions are different. A former superstar sharply criticizes the performance.
Musical atmosphere before the kick-off-but not everyone was able to get something off: Linkin Park and David Garrett’s appearance at the Champions League final in Munich has caused criticism. A former football star in particular found clear words.
Marco van Basten did not leave good hair on the show before the final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan on the show. “I think that’s absolutely idiotic,” said the former European champion and Champions League winner in the broadcaster Ziggo Sport. The performance is “worthless, really worthless,” said van Basten.
Ex-Bundesliga professional Rafael van der Vaart was also critical of the studio. Together, the two experts criticized that the players had been brought out of the rhythm through the show. The actors had to end their warm -up program around 30 minutes before kick -off and return to the cabins – for van basten. He called it “ridiculous” by UEFA to treat the players in this way.
The US band Linkin Park, recently with Emily Armstrong as a singer on a comeback tour, played a short Medley of well-known songs and new title. The audience in the Munich arena initially reacted behavior, but applauded at the end of the appearance.
Subsequently, Star Geiger David Garrett picked up the violin and presented the football classic “Seven Nation Army” from the White Stripes-a song that many fans in the stadium sang loudly.
In Germany in particular, music acts are repeatedly rejected at major football events. At the 2017 DFB Cup final, Helene Fischer was whistled out by supporters of both finalists during the half-time break. The DFB then waived further show performances in cup end games.
