So Medik is eagerly looking forward to the second final match of Telstar against Willem II, but that also applies to Telstar icon Fred Bischot. “The tension is fine, you know. I have a lot of faith in it. That is mainly because of the second half of Thursday, Telstar was closer to the 3-1 than Wilem II at the 2-2.”
Bischot is one of the few of the 1977/78 selection to go to Telstar every home game. “Frans van Essen is also one of them. We had a lot of amateurs during that period, so it’s hard to compare now. There was no second division and the step seemed much bigger.”
Afraid of Correia departure
That a number of players from this success team from Telstar will leave, Bischot has already resigned itself. He is mainly concerned about a possible departure of trainer Anthony Correia. “Who should do it then?
“I often watch training and see a lot of relaxation with those guys,” Bischot continues. “Anthony has turned it into a close team of friends, which is difficult to beat. It seems like they have everything done.”
