In a monumental country house on Burgstsedreef in Breda, a blazing fire raged on Saturday night. It is unclear whether there are victims. The fire brigade finds out if anyone was inside at the time of the fire. Around half time Sunday morning there was no clarity about this.

The fire was discovered around half past three at night. The fire started on the ground floor. The estate is surrounded by forest and is fairly close to a residential area. The fire brigade was present with a lot of equipment to extinguish the fire. Exploration units checked in the adjacent residential area for any smoke nuisance or flying fire.

The Digital Exploration (TDV) team was also present. With drones and heat imaging cameras, this team mapped the situation from the air to get a complete overview of the fire.

Soot
Around a quarter to six the signal fire was given, which means that the fire is under control.

A spokesperson for the Security Region says that soot particles may have ended up in the area. “Visible soot particles on, for example, your car, bicycle or garden furniture can be washed with hot water and soap. Always use gloves and avoid direct contact with the skin.”
