Ernesto Pellegrini was President of Inter Milan for eleven years. Now the former official has died.
Shortly before the Champions League final on Saturday evening (from 9 p.m. in the T-Online Live Tickier), Inter Milan achieved sad news: the former club owner and President Ernesto Pellegrini died at the age of 84. The club announced on Friday.
In the final in Munich against Paris Saint-Germain, the team will appear with a mourning flor to commemorate their former president.
Pellegrini took over Inter in 1984 and shaped the club for a decade. During this time he brought several German internationals to Milan, including Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Matthäus, Jürgen Klinsmann and Andreas Brehme. In 1995 he handed over the club management to Massimo Moratti.
“For eleven years, he led Inter with wisdom, honor and determination and left an indelible impression in the history of our club,” said Inter on his social channels. The club emphasized that FC Internazionale Milano and all Nerazzurri around the Pellegrinis family gather.
