Dietmar Hamann further identified the defensive at FC Bayern as a weak point even after Jonathan Tah’s obligation. However, he does not see the problems in central defense.
Julian Buhl reports from Munich
As an expert, Dietmar Hamann is now known that he often assesses things a little differently and more critically than his colleagues or those responsible for the clubs. Now he has again surprised with a transfer claim to FC Bayern.
You have to wait and see whether, for example, a player would leave the club in the wing positions, Hamann said on the edge of the UEFA legend tournament “Ultimate Champions” in the Munich SAP-Garden. For Hamann it is already clear: “For me, a six would be what you need most.”
He also justified why using the example of changing defense and international Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen to Bayern. “He played excellently last season, last season well. He is now a good step for him at the end of 20.
“What you shouldn’t forget is that he played in Leverkusen behind Xhaka, Andrich and Palacios. And there is no protection in Munich,” continued the 51-year-old. “It is always ravaged on the central defenders in Munich. They should rather see who is in front of them and then they might get a little more stability.”
Ex-Bayern striker Giovane Elber, who also played at the Gaudi tournament, also commented on the Tah transfer. “Bavaria has already seen that last season was a weak point. And I think he came to us,” said Elber. “I think he can stabilize the defense. He has shown not only in the Bundesliga, but also in the German national team that he is very good.”
Elber, who, like the former superstars Franck Ríbery, Kaká, Luis Figo and Co., returned to the square in the SAP Garden, was celebrated by the spectators in the SAP Garden. That was not true for Hamann. At the presentation of the teams at the beginning of the tournament, the ex-professional was considered by the Munich audience with unmistakable whistles. Hamann, as chief critic of Bayern, has now also deserved a relevant reputation among Munich fans.
