As early as March 2025, Guns N ‘Roses had introduced her new drummer: Isaac Carpenter replaces Frank Ferrer, who left the band after almost two decades. Now Bassist Duff McKagan is expressed in detail about the new addition for the first time – and of course is enthusiastic.

Long -term connection to the Guns n ‘Roses bassist

It is not surprising that McKagan of all people talks about Carpenter. The two have known each other for many years. McKagan tells in “Loudwire”: “I have known Isaac since he was in his first volume called Loudermilk [… ] I think I met Isaac when he was 19. And I loved his band Loudermilk. ” He adds: “I have probably known him for a long time – if you think about it, it’s 25 years old. And it’s great to have him in the band. It’s damn cool.”

The musical cooperation between the two started earlier, as part of McKagan’s solo project Loaded. Carpenter happened to be nearby, they jammed together and McKagan invited him to go on tour. A closer cooperation developed from this: Together they worked on the album The Taking, which they largely “written in his garage”, as McKagan told.

Carpenter brings “his own thing with him,” says McKagan

When asked what Carpenter has musically, McKagan replies: “Isaac has this ability to swing and grooves that have very few drummer. Steven [Adler] Had that too and matt [Sorum] Is a great, solid drummer with incredible Fills, Matt is fantastic. Both are fantastic drummer. And Isaac somehow manages to combine the qualities of these two types and still bring in his own thing “

Carpenter’s first show with the band took place on May 1st in South Korea. 2025 tours Guns n ‘Roses further through Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
