Luca Marini is one of the best motorcyclists in the world. But he has seriously injured himself in a fall.

Luca Marini was seriously injured in training for the prestigious 8-hour race in Suzuka. The 27-year-old fell on the traditional course in Japan on Wednesday-with far-reaching consequences.

Marini, currently in 13th place in the MotoGP overall ranking, was on the Suzuka Circuit on the second day of the test when the accident occurred. As Honda announced, the Italian suffered several injuries. “Marini suffered an exhausted left hip, a violation of the ligaments in the left knee, fractures of the chest and the left gibbing as well as a right -sided pneumothorax and was taken to a local hospital where it was stabilized,” Tiel Honda with. He will be under observation in Japan for the time being, “until he is classified as travelable”.

It is questionable whether Marini can start at the next MotoGP race on June 7th and 8th in Aragón in Spanish. As a replacement, Honda could fall back on test drivers such as Takaaki Nakagami or Aleix Espargaró.
