Again vertebrae around Oasis: the former drummer Zak Starkey has commented on the reunion.

Zak Starkey: “Oasis are the largest rock’n’roll band of my generation”

The musician was “disappointed” not to have been asked whether he wanted to be part of the comeback. After all, until 2008, until shortly before the band was separated in 2009, he was part of Oasis. In an interview with “BBC Breakfast” Zak Starkey said: “I wrote to them and asked them: ‘Why am I not there?'” For him, Oasis are “The greatest rock’n’roll band of my generation”, Noel Gallagher “one of the greatest songwriters of his generation” and Liam Gallagher “The greatest rock’n’roll singer of his generation”. Accordingly, he would have loved to be on stage with them again.

He understood the decision of the band for Joey Waronker, who most recently appeared with Liam Gallagher and John Squire. Nevertheless, he pointed out: “If you hire a new drummer, you will be comfortable or not? You get used to new musicians. I think that happens here and it’s okay for me.” At that time, Zak Starkey left Oasis after the two albums “Don’t Believe the Truth” (2005) and “Dig Out Your Soul” (2008) at his own request.

Was Ringo Starr’s son too bad for The Who?

Most recently, the son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr also made headlines with the rock veteran The WHO. After almost thirty years in the band, a poor performance is said to have been the reason for ZAK Starkkeys. The musician contradicted this statement and later also shared that he had separated from Roger Daltrey and Co. – it did not sound very voluntary.

Oasis don’t play in continental Europe

However, the ex-strike taps Liam and Noel Gallagher got along again after years of feud. After announcing their comeback last summer after fifteen years, the big tour starts in summer. It starts on July 4th in Cardiff, followed by numerous shows in Great Britain before Oasis play in North America, Asia, Australia and finally South America.

The BRITPOP colleagues Cast and Richard Ashcroft from The Verve are confirmed in Europe, Cage the Elephant and Ball Park Music play internationally in the Brothers. There are no German dates or other European shows alongside the home of Oasis.
