None of the usual suspects, but a sheet notorious in this country? FC Schalke 04 is supposed to focus on a surprising solution when looking for a new head coach.

As the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the second division team will draw a exit clause in the contract of the Austrian Miron Muslic, who was dated to 2028, at the English second division relegation Plyyle. The 42-year-old should therefore take over as the new trainer at FC Schalke 04.

“Sky” also reported about the Schalke interest in Muslic. The talks have progressed well, there is almost agree. Hull City was also still interested in the football teacher, in winter Hannover 96 dealt with him.

With Plymouth Argyle in the past season, Muslic only took the penultimate place after taking over the post in January.

But: Muslic’s team had thrown the later master FC Liverpool out of the FA Cup in February.

If Schalke’s decision actually made Muslic, that would be surprising. Most recently it was heard, the club was looking for a coach who knows the 2nd Bundesliga. Muslic, on the other hand, has no coaching station in Germany yet.

FC Schalke 04: Other candidates out of the race?

Previously, other names were traded in public at the Schalke search for coach. Above all, Lukas Kwasniok (SC Paderborn) and Christian Titz (1. FC Magdeburg) were considered favorites.

Titz, according to “Sky”, had recently become top candidate for Schalke bosses around the new sports director Frank Baumann. Loose conversations should have become more intense and more concrete.

Although neither S04 nor Titz’s management wanted to comment on the rumors, the Magdeburger coach preferred to move to North Rhine-Westphalia, where his family in the Meerbusch district, i.e. just a car hour from Gelsenkirchen.
