Robin Braun rises in the Bundesliga squad of the referees in the 2025/26 season. The 29 -year -old lawyer from Wuppertal takes the place of record referee Felix Brych, who ended his career after 359 missions in the upper house with the end of the past season. The DFB announced this on Wednesday.
Braun has already headed three Bundesliga games in the past season and convinced. In February he was used in the game between Bayer Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim, among other things, and was the first referee to explain a decision in German professional football after an intervention by the video assistant about the stadium microphones.
Stocking at the assistants
The total number of referees in the German Oberhaus remains unchanged at 24. There are changes in the assistants: The squad grows from 36 to 38. While Frederick Assuth, Arno Blos, Guido Kleve and Marcel Pelgrim end their active career on the field, Tobias Fritsch, Florian Issue, Patrick Kessel, Fabian Maibaum, Asmir Osmanagic and Tobias Schultes are new on the list. Arne Aarnink is also said to return to the field after surviving injury interruption.
