Tel Aviv/Gaza (dpa -AfX) – According to Israel, further deliveries have arrived in the competitive area almost a week after the end of the Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip. 107 trucks with relief goods such as flour and other foods drove in the coastal strips on Sunday, said the responsible Israeli authority of Cogat.

The relief goods were previously examined by officials. According to cogat, the trucks then drove over the Kerem Schalom border crossing in the Gaza Strip. These are humanitarian aid from the United Nations and the International Community, as Cogat announced.

Israel had blocked all aid deliveries in March and shortly afterwards ended the ceasefire with Hamas. This should increase the pressure on the terrorist organization to release the hostages remaining in the Gaza Strip. Israel claimed that there was no lack of relief goods. The government accuses Hamas to steal them to make money with what the organization denies. The UN also say that Israel has not presented any evidence of this. After printing from international allies, the country finally picked up the blockade.

However, the UN and aid organizations complain that the auxiliary deliveries are inadequate. The truck loads that have been driven in the past few days are only a “teaspoon” of the necessary help, said UN General Secretary António Guterres on Friday. Most recently there were reports from the Gaza Strip about chaotic scenes in the distribution and looting of vans./rme/dp/zb
