The SSC crowns a victory against Cagliari on the last match day of Serie A. Then all dams break. Rival Inter Milan does nothing to victory in Como.

The SSC Naples is in its club history of Italian champions for the fourth time. The southern Italians won 2-0 (1-0) against Cagliari on the last match day and thus prevailed in the remote duel with pursuer Inter Milan. Before the last match day, the two clubs only separated one point. The leader Naples remained ahead with the victory.

Scott McTominay with a remarkable side puller (42nd) and Romelu Lukaku (51st) scored the goals for Naples, which had won the SCUDETTO with Maradona in 1987 and 1990. Inters 2-0 victory in the parallel game at Como brought nothing more to the “Nerazzurri”. The goals of Stefan de Vrij (20th) and Joaquin Correa (51st) as well as the dismissal for Comos goalkeeper Pepe Reina (formerly at Bayern) (45.) were not enough, the Milanese also had to wait for a stumbling block in Naples – who did not come.

SSC had slipped to tenth place last season. In contrast, Inter missed the hoped-for master boost before the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on May 31 in Munich.

After the final whistle, all dams broke at Naples. Curious: coach Antonio Conte was missing from the SSC at the showdown as well as his inter-colleague Simone Inzaghi, both were closed.

In the end, Naples landed a point before Inter, which would have led the table from 26th to matchday 33. If both top teams had finished tied, the decision would only have been made in a co-duel on Monday-just five days before the royal class final.
