Arjen Lubach seems to have gone hard on his early vacation, because the viewer was taken out of his rhythm and no longer returned to his satireshow. “Now he gives RTL 4 a big dip.”
TV critics were stupidly beaten: Arjen Lubach suddenly went on holiday two weeks ago, just when the school holiday was over again. He returned after a week of break in the week of the Eurovision Song Contest. The result? Two of the four evenings did not look at the RTL 4-Satiricus.
Viewing dip
Now Arjen has his first week since his vacation is on it without Songfestival and the viewer does not yet appear to be back in the rhythm. In fact, the satirist now gives RTL 4 just an outright viewing figure dip.
The studio show The Floor taken over by Carlo Boszhard scored last night on Prime Time 625 thousand viewers (and 19.6 percent market share in the commercial target group), after which Lubach left 571 thousand viewers (17.7 percent). Afterwards, Renze again had 18.6 percent share. Oops, that’s pretty painful.
Disastrous
Viewing grade authority Tina Nijkamp thinks that Arjen has an incredible amount of regrets about that poorly timed vacation. “Yes, it has had that holiday week and that is getting a bit disastrous. Of course he also had a lot of problems with the Songfestival last week, but this week he also has trouble exceeding the 600 thousand viewers.”
“It is striking is that he also scores lower in the 25-54 year target group yesterday. Lower than normal. Normally it is far above 20 percent, yesterday only 17.7, and he also scores less high there than Renze and also less high than The Floor that stands for it.”
Panic
Does RTL 4 have to revise the contract with Arjen? Is it deserved that he now purchases one villa after the other? “Well, it’s not a panic yet and not worries, but it’s something to keep in mind that he will have to skip that holiday week anyway next year,” says Tina.
“Or at least have to go on holiday in a different time, because this doesn’t work like that. That is clear.”
