Olympic champion Pablo Barrios has extended his already running contract by his youth club Atlético Madrid by two more years by 2028. This is the 21-year-old midfielder of the longest contractually bound professional of the Colchoneros alongside top striker Julián Alvarez (25).
Barrios has belonged to the professional squad since 2023 and this season has achieved the final breakthrough as a top performer in the team of coach Diego Simeone. With 3,011 minutes, the Spanish international is in seventh place in the team internal ranking this season. In 40 games he comes to a goal and four templates.
In December, Barrios received a market value plus to 50 million euros, only Alvarez is currently valid at Atlético with 90 million euros. The summer update will take place in Laliga on June 9th.
