After the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and shortly before the cup final on Saturday, Arminia Bielefeld also signed a regular player for the new season: Right -back Christopher Lannert (26) extends his expiring contract with the DSC with a not mentioned term. In the past third division season, the native of Munich only missed two games and only had to watch in the DFB Cup in the semi-finals. In the round of 16 against Freiburg (3-1), he had brought Arminia to the winning road 1-0.
“Christopher Lannert has been an important part of our team for two years and a leader in the team since his arrival,” said Bielefeld’s sports director Michael Mutzel. “He not only convinced in the past season, but also proved in the current that we can always rely on his strengths. He identifies one hundred percent with the Arminia and that’s why I am pleased that he has extended his postponement with us.”
Lannert said: “We have put together an extreme development together in the past two years. We have achieved great things in particular in the current season. I feel really comfortable here in Bielefeld. It is exactly the right environment for me and I don’t see our trip ended. I am all the more pleased that we will continue to go together in the future.”
