The exhibition spreads over three floors and surprises with a mix of sensory experiences and impressive installations. In The Golden River you can see the entire route from flax to artwork: from the spun flax yarn, over the hand -prepared painting cloth, to the final painting. Today, VLAS is used in car parts, racing bikes, padel rackets and insulation materials.
Curator Kathleen Claerhout, also visual artist himself, developed the exhibition in collaboration with the support of various players from the flax and linen sector as well as artists and designers. Flax DNA will run until Monday 26 May.
