World champion Max Verstappen has once again immortalized himself in the history books of Formula 1 and pushed himself past Sebastian Vettel in a leaderboard in Imola. In front of the Dutch there are now only two pilots in the ranking.

Max Verstappen needed only a few hundred meters in the Formula 1 race in Imola to take the lead. With a daring maneuver, the Dutch pushed himself past Oscar Piatri and in 1st place – he held it until the finish.

After just a few rounds, the Red Bull Pilot once again immortalized itself in the premium lists of the premier class. With now 3560 tour rounds, he is now in third place in this ranking. He left behind him in Imola Sebastian Vettel, who came over the line in the lead 3501 times in the course of his Formula 1 career.

Verstappen far behind Schumacher and Hamilton

The bad news for Verstappen: Until he can improve another position in the leadership round ranking, many races will take place. Michael Schumacher, currently in second place, led a total of 5111 laps as part of his career.

The undisputed leader of the ranking is Ferrari-Pilot Lewis Hamilton. So far, the seven -time world champion has made it to 5487 leadership rounds in Formula 1. His lead over Verstappen: 1927 rounds.

By the way, the Dutch also provided a new Red Bull record with a win. The racing team celebrated its 124th racing victory in the 21st century in Imola. This overtook Ferrari, which has “only” won 123 victories since the beginning of the new millennium.

For Red Bull, the race in Italy was synonymous with an anniversary. For the team it was the 400th Formula 1 Grand Prix. According to Williams, Red Bull is only the second team in F1 history, which emerged from his 400th race as the winner.
