It is the common, and worrying fact, in each of the elections that have been going in 2025: The electoral apathy. It started In April Santa Fe, where 55.6% of the register was barely vote. That there were no electoral climate yet, they argued. But five elections later, the numbers do not improve.
Until now, Federal Capital had a high floor of electoral participation: 70%. This May 18 was drilled dramatic: he voted only 52.3% of the register. A number similar to legislative Chaco, where 52.1% of the voters attended the polls.
Below 60% there was also the election andn Salta, 58.7%. Something better went to San Luis (60.5%) and Jujuy (63%).
In Capital there was a strong campaign that even managed to nationalize, unlike what happened with the elections inside. Force prior to the election, former President Mauricio Macri and Javier Milei with much of his cabinet. And not even that way they managed to create the necessary climate to drag the Buenos Aires to the polls.
The district solutions of unfolding the choice so as not to distort the local campaign was to the detriment of participation. It is never high in a legislative, but not as apathetic as in this 2025. So far from the electoral calendar, the average participation is just 57%. The data that should most concern politics, beyond the winners and losers of each contest.
