Seven rioters were arrested at the Rellen at the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven on Sunday evening, a police spokesperson reports. That happened after PSV became champion. All tumult was also bitten by a police dog. It is not yet known whether there are more injuries.
Among the riots, large groups of supporters turned against the police. Among other things, stones, standing tables and fireworks were thrown. The ME had to intervene. Eventually around half past nine in the evening the peace returned around the stadium.
The players’ bus would arrive at the stadium on Sunday evening under the watchful eye of thousands of fans, but suddenly that was canceled. The players therefore waved to the fans from the stadium and showed the champion scale. The national champion will be honored on Monday.
