The long-time Bundesliga professional Pierre-Michel Lasogga could give his professional comeback on the last second division matchday. The 33 -year -old center forward is part of FC Schalke 04 against SV Elversberg (3:30 p.m./Sky) on Sunday, which is still fighting for the promotion. Lasogga has been active in the second team of the royal blue, which is playing in the regional league since 2023. Previously, he was under contract with Al-Khor SC and al-Arabi SC in Qatar. For the last time in a German professional league, he ran for Hamburger SV on May 19, 2019.
“Pierre did exactly what I expected from him,” said Schalke’s interim coach Jakob Fimpel at a press conference about the native Gladbeck, who trained with the professionals during the week. “He’s just hot for such a situation, has scored many goals a week.”
Lasogga is not ready for 90 minutes, but an option for a shorter use.
