It took some getting used to the man behind Adriaan Rem. Sr., a popular X account about Telstar. He gained his fame mainly with ironic jokes about the misery of his club: losing time and time again, in the rain to Maastricht and half -empty stadiums.
But this season everything is different. After dominant Tiki-Taka football and countless victories, Telstar can promote to the Eredivisie via the play-offs for the first time in almost fifty years. That only succeeded in 1964, one year after the club’s founding.
Due to the unexpected football success, Adriaan Rem suddenly runs against the limits of his – ‘we never win anything, that does not matter, we have fun’ – style. “But we win that is also special. We have never celebrated a party, that is funny again.”

Annokkée, who was brought to Velsen after a career at second divisionist FC Lisse and the ING bank to professionalize the organization, is satisfied with the course. “We have made a success in the composition of the staff, clearly divided the responsibilities and improved the facilities.”
