Washington (dpa-AfX)-US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made it clear before planned talks of Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Turkey via a ceasefire that only a meeting of US President Donald Trump and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin can bring a result. He does not know when and where it would be, “but that’s the only chance at the moment,” said Rubio in Fox news. “After everything we know after months of work, nothing will happen until President Trump sits down at a table with Vladimir Putin and puts things on the table.”
Trump had previously commented in a similar way and kept open to fly to Ukraine talks to Turkey at short notice. “If something happens, I would go there on Friday if it was appropriate.”
