It had announced itself and is now fixed: Eintracht Frankfurt has extended the contract of coach Toppmöller. The term may be seen as a signal.

Eintracht Frankfurt binds his head coach in the long term. Regardless of the outcome of the current season, the Bundesliga club prematurely extended the contract with Dino Toppmöller. The contract, originally running by 2026, was expanded by two more years. This means that the 44-year-old will be preserved to the club by 2028. The association did not provide any details of any clauses.

Toppmöller himself is positive about the development so far: a “very good development” has been taken this season, and the common path was “far from over,” said the head coach. On Saturday he is facing the most important game of his previous term at Eintracht.

On the last match day, Frankfurt is about the Champions League participation at SC Freiburg. The kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. (in the live ticker from T-Online). One point would be enough for the Hesse to secure at least fourth place in the table. In the event of a defeat, however, the fall threatens fifth – and thus another year in the Europa League.

Sports board member Markus Krösche sees a clear signal for continuity in the contract extension: “The team has made clear progress in all the game phases and in the tactical area.” Especially compared to the pre -season, the further development is clearly visible on an individual and team -tactical level.

According to Krösche, a central reason for this is the “excellent work” of Toppmöller and his team of coaches. Eintracht had reached sixth in the past season. This season, the Frankfurters have been among the top teams in the league for months.
