Julian Brandt initially pushed rumors about a possible summer transfer. The 29-year-old was recently associated with a move to his home club Werder Bremen. In a “Sky” interview, however, he answered the demand as to whether he would strive for a whereabouts at Borussia Dortmund and said: “At least I have no other plans.”
Brandt had come under criticism this season after an intermediate form crisis. In the course of the March update, its market value fell from 35 million to 25 million euros. Like the entire BVB, the midfielder climbed out of this hole and was directly involved in five goals in the last three Bundesliga games.
“The future planning is covered by 2026, so it is now nothing with what I am concerned with,” explained Brandt. At the end of the coming season, the contract ends in Dortmund, only then could a change become an issue. “I found flattering that the rumors always exist. With Bremen, I also saw that. It is a nice feeling to be associated with your home club,” said Bremen about the Werder interest.

For Dortmund, Brandt stood 260 games since he changed in summer 2019 in which he scored 46 goals and gave 64 templates. Since this season he has been the longest serving professional in the BVB squad and vice captain. He led the Borussia seven times this season with the bandage on the field.
