The future of Dean Huijsen has apparently been clarified. The Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” reported on Wednesday evening of an agreement between the central defender and Real Madrid. The royal ones therefore pull the exit clause and give the AFC Bournemouth the second highest transfer fee in the club history. The talent should already be on the pitch at the club world championship.
For 50 million pounds, the equivalent of around 58 million euros, are due for Huijsen’s transfer. The Cherries only took more when selling Dominic Solanke for 64.3 million euros to Tottenham Hotspur 2024, but have to submit part of the transfer. 10 percent of the transfer profit go to Juventus Turin, where the defender was trained until last year and sold to England for 15.2 million euros in summer – with an increase of around EUR 4.3 million. FC Málaga is also involved as a youth club.
The “Marca” does not provide any information about the contract details in Madrid, but reported on the documents that have already been signed. At Real, Huijsen, who ran for the Dutch junior national teams, but debuted for the Spanish national team in March, is to shape a new era on the defensive. David Alaba (32), Antonio Rüdiger (32) and Raúl Asencio (22) are only tied until 2026, and only Éder Militão (27) is still available for the coming season.
Huijsen is one of the largest central defender talents in the world and has increased its market value from 10 million to EUR 42 million in the current season. Other European top clubs had also tried around the 1.97 meter-tall defender, and FC Chelsea was still the most promising candidate in April. FC Arsenal, FC Liverpool, Newcastle United and FC Bayern were also mentioned as interested parties.
