On the Oirschotse Heide in Oirschot, a big natural fire rages on Wednesday afternoon. The fire brigade has been pulled out with four fire trucks and four water cars. A piece of heathland of about thirty by forty meters is on fire between the military training grounds and the A58 motorway.

All fire extinguishing and water cars are used according to a spokesperson for the safety region to get the fire under control. The fire is not yet master.

Many fire trucks
Although the fire seems to be not too bad at first sight, the fire brigade was pulled out in a big way. As a precaution, that is due to the persistent drought. In addition, the Oirschotse Heide of itself is already quite dry and open, making the wind more easily on the fire.

By quickly scaling up to ‘big fire’, there are enough firefighters, equipment and water available to quickly get a natural fire under control.

Police helicopter
A police helicopter has also flown over the area to map out where the fireplaces are located and to help the fire brigade.

The traffic on the A58 is not bothered by the nature fire, the wind blows the smoke off the highway.
