The asphalt is bad, the lighting is not good and there is a run too fast. Due to these types of complaints, the Nijstad road at Hoogeveen is not known as the most traffic -safe road. The municipality is therefore going to ‘cut’ the road.

Such a ‘cut’ is a way to close the road. This is possible with, for example, flower boxes or posts. For through traffic, this means that Nijstad becomes impassable.

The work for the ‘cutting time’ will start from Monday and will last about a week. The road, south of the Hoogeveensche Vaart, is closed to traffic during that period.

With the partial closing of the road, the municipality wants to illuminate traffic pressure and create a safe situation. Residents can reach their house from Zuidwolde or Hoogeveen. Driving from one side to the other is then no longer an option.
