The outgoing attacker of FC Bayern comments in a moving video – and becomes thoughtful.
Only once will Thomas Müller appear in a home game for FC Bayern Munich. On Saturday in the classic against Borussia Mönchengladbach (from 6.30 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online). It becomes emotional in the Allianz Arena – and it is already emotionally in a touching video that Müller has published on YouTube the day before the game. It is a very personal message of the 35-year-old.
“Yes, tomorrow the time has come. Tomorrow I will play in the Allianz Arena for the last time. I’m looking forward to it,” says Müller right at the beginning of the clip, which takes around three minutes. It is an emotional journey through his career, with pictures of his first substitution, important goals, great jubilee moments and numerous trophies.
In the short film you can also see a plane from Müller’s hometown Pähl in Upper Bavaria, a place with 2,500 inhabitants. Even then, he says, he slept in Bavaria bed linen. “It is almost incredible to describe my career,” says Müller in the video.
He particularly emphasizes how much the connection to people means to him. “What football does with people when you look into the radiant faces – that does something with you,” said the offensive player. “I will miss that.”
Before the video with a “Thank you for everything!” ends, Müller sits in the recording studio with headphones and says: “I can’t turn the time back, I don’t want to.
