With FC Bayern, Jonas Urbig has already made the championship in the Bundesliga perfect. But that doesn’t have to be the only title for him this season.

Jonas Urbig already has the master shell in his pocket with Bayern Munich – soon a second great success could follow. The 21-year-old was in use in the first half of the season for second division club 1. FC Köln and has been playing at the new master from Munich since the winter break. Should Cologne not only make the climb perfect in the 2nd league, but also in the end in first place, Urbig would be faced with a historical double triumph: the two championship titles in the first two German leagues within one season

“It would be strange to become a master on paper twice,” said the goalkeeper in an interview with RTL/NTV. However, it is much more crucial for him that Cologne made the leap into the Bundesliga. “I keep my fingers crossed for the team and my home club so that we can see each other again in the Bundesliga.”

For FC, Urbig played ten league games before switching to the record champion in winter. There he was used in twelve competitive games in the second half of the season. He now said about his transfer: “I switched to FC Bayern Munich to develop here.” He was very pleased with his recording on the part of the team – and he was grateful to have made a contribution to the championship.

The 1. FC Köln is second in the second league before the last two match days, behind Hamburger SV. On Friday (6.30 p.m./in the live ticker on T-Online), the team from the new coach Friedhelm Funkel will go to the 1. FC Nürnberg. Should Cologne rise as the leader, Urbig would have been the third player to Pasi Raubiainen (1980/81 with Bavaria and Werder Bremen) and Frank Hartmann (1986/87 with Bavaria and Hannover 96), who succeeds in one season both the title in the Bundesliga and in the 2nd league.
