After long -lasting rumors, it is now clear that the Philadelphia Eagles will record one of its most important offensive players in the NFL – at least for the time being.

This personnel was open for a long time. But now it is clear that Tight End Dallas Goedert will also play for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 season. Both sides agreed on an adaptation of his contract that continued to expire at the end of the season.

After he had granted $ 14 million so far, his salary has now been reduced to $ 10 million, as reported, among other things, “ESPN”. With performance bonuses, he also has the option of earning up to another million.

A few weeks ago, General Manager Howie Roseman spoke about this personnel and emphasized the importance of Goedert’s for the Eagles: “Obviously, Dallas was an outstanding player and man for us. We have enormous respect for him in both ways, both as a player and as a person.”

Goedert flourished in the playoffs

Goedert was originally a second -round pick of the Eagles in Draft 2018 by South Dakota State and has since completed 76 starts for the Eagles. He still had 349 receptions for 4085 yards and 24 touchdowns. Due to the injury, he was active in the regular season in just ten games in 2024, but opened a lot in the playoffs and led Philly with 17 receptions and 215 yards on the way to the Super Bowl triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs (40:22) in New Orleans.

Goeder’s contract adjustment is a further consequence of the light austerity course that the Eagles have carried out in this offseason. Before that, they had the defensive Tackle Milton Williams and Edge Rush Josh Sweat pulled in the Free Agency, also released Cornerback Darius Slay and Traden Safety CJ Gardner-Johnson.

All of this was necessary to pay tribute to both the actual budget and the cap situation after spending highly doped contracts at stars such as quarterback Jalen Hurts, Running Back Saquon Barkley and the Wide Receiver AJ Brown and Devonta Smith.
