“It was important to send a signal inwards and outwards with the extension,” said CEO Alexander Wehrle from VfB Stuttgart in February in the transfer market interview with regard to Angelo Stiller’s signature until 2028. According to recent reports, this should only have in 2026 – a possible transfer in the summer of 2025 would therefore be freely negotiable. And even if there is a concrete interest of the Liverpool FC according to the “Stuttgart Nachrichten”, VfB only wanted to let the national player go for a significant record sum.

Stuttgart is ready to enter into a deal from 60 million euros from a transfer fee or would at least think about it, reports the newspaper. So far or more, the English champion has paid five times for one player, exactly this sum around 2018 for the then Leipzig Naby Keïta (30). In the meantime, the VfB has never ever had so much for one player: Benjamin Pavard (29), who went to FC Bayern in 2019, is the most expensive sale of the club history.

Stiller last increased its market value to 38 million euros at the end of March, making the most valuable player in the Stuttgart squad before the Enzo Millot (22) estimated with 35 million euros. In the coming year, if the clause is supposed to grab, the international would have media reports to have significantly less than this summer: 36.5 million euros in Stiller would cost. According to “Sky”, VfB is on the longer lever, but can buy the option for around 2 million euros. This was contractually assured that Stiller could not reject this.
