After the game, Freund took the time to talk to T-Online about the future of FC Bayern.
T-online: Mr. Freund, congratulations on the championship-what does this title mean?
Christoph Freund: It was our most important goal this season to bring the master shell back to Munich. The joy was huge, and the boys earned and worked out as a team throughout the season. A title is always something very special, and for some players it was also the first one for Harry Kane, Eric dier or Michael Olise.
There are also success reports in the junior area: The U19 has reached the semi -finals for the German championship with the 4-2 against Borussia Dortmund, where Bayer Leverkusen will take place next weekend. Did you find the game as spectacular as the 3: 3 of the professionals on Saturday at RB Leipzig?
It was a very intensive, very good football game at U19 level. Two strong teams, there were many goal scenes. Very good for watching, a spectacle.

You have already accompanied many talents. What are the next development steps for players like Karl?
There is not one template that is the same for everyone. It is important that the talents are always challenged as much as possible in training that they have the opportunity to be in professional training and learn to prevail against seasoned professionals. And that they get many minutes of play. You have to find a good mix.
Can the club World Cup be a crucial step for Karl to recommend the professionals?
He is currently training with the professionals-like Kusi (Jonah Kusi-Asare). There are some young players who can often show themselves. The club World Cup will also be good from the temporal component that you are a lot together, that the boys can get to know the team even better and vice versa.
What is the meaning of the U19 championship title for FC Bayern?
Of course we want to win games and celebrate success, and primarily is it always about the development of the players. If you win titles and play such decision -making games, the boys benefit from it. We play to win. This is not the most important thing in the offspring, but it is still part of winning games and titles.
