At second division Hertha BSC, the upheaval continues in the club management. Now the managing director is also taking his hat.

At Hertha BSC there is an important personnel upheaval. Managing Director Thomas Herrich leaves the club at the end of the season and resolves his contract. The second division announced this on Tuesday.

President Fabian Drescher said: “After the Presidium had decided to further develop Hertha BSC’s structures for the upcoming challenges and to make important personnel changes, Tom Herrich offered his actions to support the plans of the Presidium in the sense of the association.”

Who will follow Herrich is still open. According to club information, preparations for the replacement are currently underway. Most recently, it was speculated that Jonas Boldt, former sports director of Hamburger SV, could be a candidate for the new leadership role among Berliners.

Herrich has been Managing Director of Hertha since 2022. He had previously worked in the management for over ten years.

In a statement, he emphasized his connection with the association: “Hertha BSC is much more than a job for me – it is home, passion and a matter of the heart,” said Herrich. Now, however, the moment has come when he had to think of himself and his families for the first time.

The past years would have cost a lot of strength, Herrich said. Therefore, he now wants to recharge your batteries in order to be able to prepare for upcoming challenges.
